Habs mir auch mal runtergezogen, allerdings muss ich die Grafik schon recht weit runterschrauben.
Leider "drehen" sich die Bäume dann auch mit, bzw deren Texturen, so dass es eigentlich keinen Spaß mehr macht
System: Athlon XP 2400+
RAM: 1 GB
Graka: 6800 LE
Spielt jemand mit einem vergleichbaren System? Ich überlege den Arbeitsspeicher auf 2 Gig aufzustocken.
Bringt das etwas? Gibt es da Erfahrungswerte?

Thoughts after 10 levels...
Well where to start I guess the beginning...
Character creation:
Pretty decent nothing that puts it above any other game
Starting Off:
This is probably my first turn off, started as elf sorcerer in leth nurae, got dumped under a tree next to a quest guy, where is the lore?? what is my purpose in this land?? I mean why am I here...
Quests:
The lower game is led by quests (not sure about higher), cant help but thinking this shoulda been called everquest 1.5, but most of the quests dont seem to have much thought put into em, ie: kill 6 mobs that are right behind you... doh!
Combat:
Seems pretty basic and slow, slow being the problem, as for spells, hmm I am already seeing the same spells named level 2, so not much imagination put into the thought of spell lines it seems considering you only get spells every two levels..
Maps:
Well this is a good point for me, makes people learn were they are going and not just look on the map for a detailed view. Bad for people who are beginnners who havent played a MMO much or people who are casual players..
Performance:
HUGE HUGE ISSUE!!! I have a core 2 duo 6400 overclocked, geforce 7900gt overclocked, 2 gigs of ram etc etc, and still see issues, you guys are killing this game before it evens starts if it takes a system like mine or better to play, there are many many people on marginal systems which would seem to be a little lower than mine..
Crashes:
This game was no where close to ready for open beta and yet you guys are rushing it, so I am led to beleive you are gonna release this game on January 29th per ebgames date, and if this is the case this game is doomed, you will chase so many people away it will not be funny, look what happened to everquest 2 they rushed out the game and look at them now, barely holding a candle to WoW for player base..
End game content:
Level 40-50 hasnt even been tested?? You do realize within a month people will be in this level range, and from what i see and read this content is not in game and raid content hasnt been tested by the population, you are asking for trouble..
I dont want this to sound all bad cause the game has potential for sure, BUT IF YOU GUYS RELEASE THIS GAME THIS MONTH YOU WILL DOOM THIS GAME, THIS IS A GUARANTEE!!! SO THINK ABOUT IT PLEASE, A RELEASE DATE IN MARCH IS MORE LIKELY TO HAVE THINGS RIGHT, IF YOU ARE RELEASING THIS GAME BECASUE OF PRESSURE FROM SONY OR WHOEVER, THEN STAND UP FOR YOUR GAME, AND MAKE IT RIGHT BEFORE YOU GUYS PULL AN EVERQUEST!!!

People Looking for EQ3 (or third gen. EQ) are Going to be Disappointed
So I think that people looking for EQ3 will be disappointed because really VG is more like EQ 2½. That this game is not the generational leap forward that it was advertised as is as disappointing to me as it is obvious.
Thus begins my state of the game post, which I really have been trying not to write. Oh well.
So beta 2 was absolutely awful to play but still managed to be pretty good fun. By awful to play I mean that it was what most late alpha/beta programs should be in terms of technical advancement and population (laggy, buggy and underpopulated). It was fun though and really very playable because you could sort of see where it was trying to go. You had the beginnings of the counter/chain/sympathetic/rescue system which I pinned my hopes on pretty heavily. And as far as art goes, even from early on it was obvious that the art was going to be something special. The scariest (and least fun) part of play, Corpse Runs, which I always hated and am still not terribly fond of, but have just now admitted for the first time for fear of **flame’liciousness** were even fairly painless. Although we were assured that they were going to get progressively worse. At the time, /targetmy was my friend.
Since then the game systems that I was counting on to form the foundation of the new industry-standard 3rd gen. MMO have been, without exception (somebody correct me if I’m wrong here) pared back. The tactical decisions available during combat “rounds” have gone from at least four to two’ish. I remember thinking at the time that it was a little disappointing that the system was a little too whack a mole because the 4 icons would light as the action became available. Man who would’ve thought I’d miss those two moles.
As envisioned (and not now a part of the game) round based combat would necessarily take several seconds, in order to give the character time to sort through her potential actions. If that isn’t enticing, c’mon! Yah, gone. Chains have become crit. based (where did that idea come from?) Explicitly activated sympathetics have gone the way of the dodo and instead we have implicit weaknesses. Perception based countering of specific, identified mob abilities is the purview of one class? Been awhile since I dusted off the disciple so what, two classes maybe? Where’s the vaunted perception based combat? I liked that idea.
I just started a character on the PvP server and leveled to 20 in about 11 minutes, pretty much by accident, and in the interest of full disclosure, in the company of some ridiculously skilled players. Still, didn’t think that sort of thing was going to be possible in this game. That being said I’m not sure there’s enough content in game to support a slower exp. Curve. I seriously saw everything I would’ve wanted too and just last night abandoned (outlevelled) my first quest. “We realize that a slower leveling curve may become a grind but we’re going to have enough content to support our lengthened leveling curve players are going to have to go through. Oh really? OK you’re a kitty (any Q. race here) I’m a Dark elf see ya’ at the green witch at level 8? Tell me I’m missing something.
The thing that I’ve actually experienced the least so far but envision as the biggest disappointment is the character differentiation. Racial attributes (or the nearly complete lack thereof) are really just a minor consideration in character development. The question really boils down to, "What’s the difference between one 18 cleric and another besides how that player uses her abilities?" In a game that’s supposed to be so gear’centric, and “you’ll know a player by his stuff”; do you know anybody at level 24 not wearing infineum?
Remember this? BRAD: “I think as a character, you’re going to have to bring multiple sets of situational gear into a dungeon…” I’m actually sitting here giggling out loud.
Now I can’t bring fresh eyes to this project after a year and part of any disappoint is a product of one’s expectations but honestly I can’t sit here and say that mine were wildly out of synch with what was being advertised both in game and in the forums. It's not just my fault.
So what happened? A. The game was wildly over advertised in an effort to drum up early support, financial support, is guess. I deem this the least likely idea as I believe long term player retention is really a goal. 2. The visionary of the team was so ignorant of the technical limitations at the time that he didn’t know that what he was asking was impossible. Or III. The staff (team) was not competent enough to accomplish the task at hand within the constraints imposed time/budgetary. Some combination of all three probably but none are entirely flattering in my opinion. In any case does it really matter? The game isn't what it was advertised and believe me I'm sure there's some very good-sounding excuses but like that great big elf Bill Parcells says: “Don’t tell me about the pain, just show me the baby.”
So that’s enough for now, I’m not going to get into crafting... Love you Sil’ and there’s no harder working man in the business but I can’t help remembering my grandma… Work smart not hard.
