TV-Out

Hallo!
Mal wieder ein Tech-Hilferuf von mir...
Meine Mutter hat nen neues Laptop, ein IBM Thinkpad T32 (??? ich schau morgen noch genau nach), das hat einen TV-Out. Diesen schließe ich an einen Adapter. Den wiederrum an den Fernseher angeschlossen. Ist das so richtig?

Trotzdem geht es nicht ;( An was kann es liegen? Der PC sagt immer nur "Kabel anschließen"...

vllt kann jemand helfen...
