Microsoft Silverlight

Hat jemand schon Erfahrungen damit gemacht ?
Eine Silverlight Appplikation mit VS programmiert?

Soll ja großes potential haben, aber was genau kann man denn damit alles realisieren?
Ist es wirklich nur eine alternative zu Flash , d.h. wird es letztendlich auch nur seine Verbreitung bei Unterhaltungsmedien finden oder sind damit auch kommerzielle Web-Lösungen möglich ?
Also z.B. Galerien, FTP-Clients, oder ähnliches.

Silverlight ist eine Antwort auf Flash... ich habe mich damit allerdings noch nicht wirklich befasst.
Viel interessanter ist IMHO JavaFX.

"nur" eine Alternative zu Flash ist übrigens ziemlich komisch - Flash ist sehr sehr Mächtig. Vor allem in Kombination mit dem dazugehörigen Server....
